 Most important services

The survey asked faculty to rate the importance of various services to them.  The following were the 13 services rated either "Ïmportant" or "Very Important"by the highest percentage of faculty:

  • BadgerWeb Academics (e.g. grading, class lists)
  • Access to online resources from off-campus
  • E-mail services
  • Departmental printers
  • Virus protection
  • Overall computing service
  • Overall library service
  • The time it takes to resolve your desktop/laptop computing problems
  • The wired network
  • The time it takes to resolve your classroom technology problems
  • BadgerWeb (SHC Community portal)
  • Technology in meeting spaces/classrooms
  • Support when you have a desktop/laptop computing problem

Highest satisfaction

The survey also asked faculty to rate their satisfaction with various services.  The following 12 services received the highest number of "Satisfied" or "Somewhat Satisfied" ratings:

  • Study carrels in the library
  • Current library schedule
  • E-mail and SPAM filtering
  • E-mail services
  • Library circulation services
  • BadgerWeb Academics (e.g. grading, class lists)
  • Virus protection
  • Departmental library liaison
  • Access to online resources from off-campus
  • Interlibrary loan
  • Library reference services
  • Public computers in the library

Most used services

The survey asked faculty to rate their use of services over the course of a semester. The following 13 services received the highest average usage:

  • E-mail Services
  • BadgerWeb (SHC Community portal)
  • BadgerWeb Academics (e.g. grading, class lists)
  • Access to online resources from off-campus
  • Departmental printers
  • The wired network
  • Technology in meeting spaces/classrooms
  • eCompanion/eCollege (http://shconline.net/)
  • Wireless access to the Internet on campus
  • Online audio/video for academic or work purposes
  • Library web site (e.g. library hours, policies)
  • Online library catalog
  • Library databases (e.g. JSTOR, LexisNexis)
