Most important services

The survey asked students to rate the importance of various services to them.  The following were the 10 services rated either "Ïmportant" or "Very Important"by the highest percentage of students:

  • BadgerWeb Academics (e.g. course registration, degree audits)
  • Availability of wireless access on campus
  • Performance of wireless access on campus
  • E-mail services
  • Campus printers
  • Virus protection
  • Physical comfort in the library (e.g. seating, lighting)
  • BadgerWeb (SHC Community portal)
  • Ease of finding physical materials in the library
  • Public computers in the library

Highest satisfaction

The survey also asked students to rate their satisfaction with various services.  The following 10 services received the highest number of "Satisfied" or "Somewhat Satisfied" ratings:

  • Library reference services
  • E-mail services
  • Virus protection
  • E-mail SPAM filtering
  • Overall library service
  • Library Web site (e.g. library hours, policies)
  • BadgerWeb (SHC Community portal)
  • Quiet work space in the library
  • Overall computing service
  • Library support for your scholarly research

Most used services

The survey asked students to rate their use of services over the course of a semester. The following 10 services received the highest average usage:

  • E-mail services
  • Wireless access to the Internet on campus
  • BadgerWeb (SHC Community portal)
  • Public computers in the library
  • Campus printers
  • eCompanion/eCollege (http://shconline.net/)
  • Library computing labs
  • Quiet work space in the library
  • Access to online resources from off-campus
  • The wired network
