A guide to ebooks at Spring Hill College's Burke Library

Finding Books in Academic Complete

All e-books at SHC are fully catalogued in the Burke Memorial Library Catalog; the record in the catalog is a durable link and may be added to a Course Site for course readings or added as a hyperlink to a document or presentation.

Here is an example of an eBrary book as it appears in the catalog:

Brownstein, Rachel M. Why Jane Austen? New York: Columbia University Press, 2011.

E-book records may be added to the "My Favorites" list after logging into the catalog so that the reader can return to the e-book with ease.  Inside the EBSCO interface the Folder feature offers a way to store for later reading a copy of the e-book which may or may be have been annotated by that person.

Using eBrary's Academic Complete Search Engine

Another way of finding e-books at our Library is to use eBrary's own search engine:

Log in to eBrary using the same login you use for EZProxy.

Browse e-books by broad subjects or by subject tree.  Search by title, author subject, publisher, etc. using the advanced search.  Searches of the entire text are a default search in the basic search.  For a search of a particular book title, use the title search field in the advanced search or if using the basic search put the title of the book in quotes.

*You will be prompted to login to eBrary with your Spring Hill College (email) Username and Password.

EXAMPLE: Username: abc123 (shc email address minus "") Password: ****** (your email password)

If you do not know or can't remember your SHC user name and password please go to OR contact the Help Desk.
