Why are some books in Burke and some in IRC?

The Teacher Education Library has the Alabama Courses of Study, K-12 textbooks, activity/methods books, professional books, media, and children's and young adult literature.

Burke Memorial Library, the main library, holds most of the academic books in education.

Search the catalog for books

  1. Limit your search to Book to get both print and ebook results, or choose your preferred format.
  2. To limit your search to items in the Education Library only, change "Spring Hill College" to "Teacher Education Library."
  3. On the results page, you can limit by format (book, kit, DVD, game, etc), content, and audience, and find “more like these.”
  4. To enter a subject/author/title, click on "Advanced Search."

Locate books in the Education Library according to the Dewey Decimal Classification System:

Burke Library uses the Library of Congress Classification system (LC).  Education books are in Class L on the upper floor.
