The 2019 Spring Hill College Undergraduate Research Symposium took place last Friday, April 12, 2019. The Charles J. Boyle Undergraduate Research Award in the category of Special Library Collections was awarded to Cecilia Vonn Mann, for her paper, The Great Epidemic of 1853—the Untold Battle of Mobile and the Saffron Knight.
The award is sponsored by the SHC Friends of the Library and is awarded to research that demonstrates substantive utilization of the Burke Memorial Library’s special collections including Archives and federal depository materials.
Cecilia's paper is in the pre-publication process for acceptance in the Alabama Review, a peer-reviewed academic journal, that presents the best of scholarship on the history of the state.
